Remote Controlled Spy Car

Abstract

We have seen bluetooth controlled car before this. Today we are going to see remote controlled spy robotic car. Here is the block diagram of remote controlled spy car. Applications of this car are this car can capture picture, can record audio as well as video using wireless remote controller i.e. using RF signals. Maximum range of this robotic car is 125 meters. It overcomes with limited range of infrared remote controllers.

Introduction

This robot consists of mainly two sections.
 1. Remote control section
 2. Video transmission section

 1. Remote control section :-

Remote control section uses HT 12E, HT 12D encoder and decoder. 433 MHz transmitter and receiver is used for remote control. H-bridge circuits are used for driving motors. Two 12V/100 RPM geared motors are used as drivers.

When we press any key of remote control, encoder generates 8 bit address and 4 bit data. DIP switches are used for setting address. Transmitter sends 8 bit address and 4 bit data to receiver. Receiver receives 8 bit address and 4 bit data and decoder decodes it, thus enabling the appropriate output. Output signals that are generated are controlled by H-bridge which then rotates motors.

433 MHz transmitters and receivers like 'ASK and ZigB' are extremely small and excellent for short range RF remote controls. Transmitter output is upto 8 mW at 433.92 MHz. Transmitter accepts both analog and digital inputs and can operate from 1.5 V to 12 V. Receiver also operates at 433.92 MHz and have sensitivity of 3 uV. receiver operates from 4.5-5.5 V dc.

 2. Video transmission section:-

We use wireless CCD camera here. These types of cameras are easily available in market. these cameras operates on 12 V DC.
The 12 Volt DC supply is taken from the battery placed in the robot. The camera has a receiver, which is placed in the remote station. Its output signals are in the form of audio and video. These signals are directly connected to a TV receiver or a computer through a tuner card.
